Saturday 7:00 p.m. – Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam returned to the Minneapolis Metrodome for the first time in over a year and with a 16 truck field stacked full of some of the sport’s all-time greatest veterans it was a pair of 22 year olds who stole the show, as Morgan Kane powered Monster Magic to the Championship Race victory over his lifelong friend Ryan Anderson in Son-uva Digger, then Ryan wowed the huge crowd with a wild freestyle that was scored one point better than his brother Adam in the Legend.

Carrying momentum from his summer stadium wins Linsey Weenk opened the night by taking the fastest qualifier slot in the Lucas Oil Crusader. Kane in his last run in Monster Magic before he moves into a Stone Crusher for the 2012 season was getting quicker round after round though, and when the pair met in the semifinals Monster Magic scored the upset. The bottom of the bracket included all three drivers named Anderson and they would race each other: Adam drove the Legend to a first round win over Dennis Anderson’s Grave Digger, then Ryan would eliminate Adam in the semifinals.

The Championship Race between the pair that will help carry the sport to even greater heights in the future put on a blistering finale with Kane grabbing the biggest win of his budding career by a matter of a couple of feet and clearly a new superstar was born in Minneapolis with Morgan Kane taking the racing trophy.

A phenomenal 16 truck freestyle competition came down to the Anderson boys. Marc McDonald had set the bar high with a huge air run in El Toro Loco but Adam’s Legend blasted into the lead with a performance that included one of the year’s most amazing saves. Ryan was next out and Son-uva Digger’s non-stop huge air assault earned the younger sibling one more bonus point which proved to be the difference in Ryan getting another major stadium freestyle triumph. Coming out in the final slots Lupe Soza went big in the Advance Auto Parts Grinder but the truck went over before filling regulation time. Then it was nine-time World Champion Tom Meents who’s Maximum Destruction truck was broken early yet on sheer determination Meents forced the truck to fill the clock but was unable to hit some of the big moves it took to win. Then when Dennis Anderson’s Grave Digger came up short of filling the clock the freestyle trophy went to Ryan and Son-uva Digger.
